Optimum nutrition is a revolution in healthcare. Patrick Holford's first major book, The Optimum Nutrition Bible, dealt with the effect of good nutrition for the body. Optimum Nutrition for the Mind reveals what good nutrition can do for the mind. Some 80 per cent of us suffer from 'affluent malnutrition', and struggle to cope with the demands of 21st-century life. No wonder the World Health Organization has reported that mental health problems are fast becoming the world's number-one health issue. The good news is that you can 'feed' your brain to clear your thinking, sharpen your memory and smooth out your mood swings. What you eat DOES affect your mind, and can transform how you think and feel. In Optimum Nutrition for the Mind Patrick Holford has drawn on the latest breakthroughs in medical science to show how everyone, at any age, can improve their state of mind with the right nutrition. And he shows how in cases of many serious conditions, from autism to schizophrenia, balanced nutrition can be a key factor in achieving a cure. This is the first definitive, readable and practical guide to solving mental health problems through nutrition. Read this book and find out how you can use optimum nutrition to * Increase your IQ and improve your concentration * Boost your memory and sharpen your mind - whatever your age * Improve your mood, banish mood swings and beat depression * Conquer stress and anxiety and get a great night's sleep and how optimum nutrition can * Reverse learning difficulties, dyslexia and hyperactivity * Help children with Down's syndrome and autism * Prevent and arrest dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease * Speed up recovery from schizophrenia About the Author Patrick Holford is founder of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London. He is Britain's top nutrition expert and is the author of over 20 health books.

How we describe the condition of our books

We are very proud of the condition of the books we sell (please read our testimonials to find out more!)

New: Exactly as it says.

As New: Pretty much new but shows small signs of having been read; inside it will be clean without any inscriptions or stamps; might contain a remainder mark.

Very Good: Might have some creases on the spine; no hard cracks; maybe slight forward lean and short inscription inside; perhaps very minor bumping on the corners of the book; inside clean but the page edges might be slightly yellowed.

Good: A few creases on the spine, perhaps a forward lean, bumping on corners or shelfwear; maybe an inscription inside or some shelfwear or a small tear or two on the dustjacket; inside clean but page edges might be somewhat yellowed.

Fair: In overall good condition, might have a severe forward lean to the spine, an inscription, bumping to corners; one or two folds on the covers and yellowed pages; in exceptional cases these books might contain some library stamps and stickers or have neat sticky tape which was used to fix a short, closed tear.

Poor: We rarely sell poor condition books, unless the books are in demand and difficult to find in a better condition. Poor condition books are still perfect for a good read, all pages will be intact and none threatening to fall out; most probably a reading copy only.
