Improving your sleep experience is one of the smartest things you can do to increase concentration, alertness, overall performance and longevity. Good sleep habits are essential to keep you sharp and creative. In Sleep Smart Christiaan Geldenhuys breaks down the process of sleep enhancement into five categories called 'life support systems', providing practical hints on how to enhance your sleep patterns so as to get the best out of life. By acting smart in applying these life support systems - sleeping, eating, drinking, breathing and relationships - you can hone your personal sleep experience into a fine art that will impact on every aspect of your life. Sleep disturbances and lack of sleep cause many people in modern society to suffer from unnecessary discomfort and disease. Once you understand why and how you sleep you can take control of your sleeping experiences • regain the sharpness of youth • maintain your creative abilities for the rest of your life. Some interesting and refreshing approaches to sleeping problems discussed in the book are: How to form a meaningful relationship with health care workers to improve your sleep. • Sleeping pills, which have - with reason - acquired a bad reputation, are examined in context Smarter, non-addictive medicines are now available to deal with sleep crises. • Major sleep disturbances, such as sleep apnoea and excessive snoring, that affect millions of people, are discussed and ways of dealing with them are provided Details are provided of people and organisations that can help South Africans with their sleeping problems You do not have to accept insomnia and other symptoms of sleeping problems as a normal part of a stressed and pressurised life. This book will help you optimise your sleep experience to the benefit of your body and spint, and of the people around you.

How we describe the condition of our books

We are very proud of the condition of the books we sell (please read our testimonials to find out more!)

New: Exactly as it says.

As New: Pretty much new but shows small signs of having been read; inside it will be clean without any inscriptions or stamps; might contain a remainder mark.

Very Good: Might have some creases on the spine; no hard cracks; maybe slight forward lean and short inscription inside; perhaps very minor bumping on the corners of the book; inside clean but the page edges might be slightly yellowed.

Good: A few creases on the spine, perhaps a forward lean, bumping on corners or shelfwear; maybe an inscription inside or some shelfwear or a small tear or two on the dustjacket; inside clean but page edges might be somewhat yellowed.

Fair: In overall good condition, might have a severe forward lean to the spine, an inscription, bumping to corners; one or two folds on the covers and yellowed pages; in exceptional cases these books might contain some library stamps and stickers or have neat sticky tape which was used to fix a short, closed tear.

Poor: We rarely sell poor condition books, unless the books are in demand and difficult to find in a better condition. Poor condition books are still perfect for a good read, all pages will be intact and none threatening to fall out; most probably a reading copy only.
