Ware Spookverhale van Suid-Afrika
Vir drie dinge het Afrikaans sy gelyke onder geen ander taal nie: vry, swets en spookstories vertel. Spookverhale is so deel van ons tradisie en herkoms dat die beste pogings van die verligte tye waarin ons leef om hulle te verdryf, nie slaag nie. Kom maak kennis met 'n paar van die bekende, minder bekende en selfs heeltemal onbekende gedaantes wat in die donkerste ure van die nag in die huise en oor die vlaktes van ons land hul ontstellende opwagting maak.
Dit spook beslis al sedert die oertyd in Suid-Afrika, maar die skrywer begin sy hervertelling van dosyne ware spookverhale met ’n vreemde voorval in November 1653 op ’n seilskippie in Tafelbaai, die eerste opgetekende geval. Die magdom ware stories is tematies ingedeel volgens die soort verskynsel, van verjaarspoke, saampraatspoke en tydspronge, tot spookmotors, spookdiere, voorbodes en sieners. Die verteltrant is lig en gemaklik met skeute humor, soos net Daniël Lötter kan.

Good: A few creases on the spine, perhaps a forward lean, bumping on corners or shelfwear; maybe an inscription inside or some shelfwear or a small tear or two on the dustjacket; inside clean but page edges might be somewhat yellowed.
Fair: In overall good condition, might have a severe forward lean to the spine, an inscription, bumping to corners; one or two folds on the covers and yellowed pages; in exceptional cases these books might contain some library stamps and stickers or have neat sticky tape which was used to fix a short, closed tear.
Poor: We rarely sell poor condition books, unless the books are in demand and difficult to find in a better condition. Poor condition books are still perfect for a good read, all pages will be intact and none threatening to fall out; most probably a reading copy only.
